Scott Robbins calls himself a “Human Capital Executive” and he’s been hugely successful for 18 years. He’s known for his wildly out-of-the-box thinking, which is precisely why Scott joined Matrix Medical Network almost four years ago - they’re boldly changing the way healthcare is now delivered.
Karen Height has been the Sourcing Director for Banner Health for nine years now, but strangely her background isn’t in recruiting. In fact, she has a degree in Journalism and has worked in media management and advertising for years. Height even managed a local television station in Colorado. So why is she a physician recruiter thought leader? Karen’s record of success says it all.
Wall Township on the New Jersey Shore is just one hour from Manhattan, but it’s truly a world away. Jamie Haines, MA, a physician recruiter and an onboarding specialist at Meridian Health knows this only too well. In addition to the Jersey Shore Medical Center and K. Hovnanian Childrens Hospital, Haines recruits for four other hospitals in the system plus over 100 of their practice sites. A recent merger means she will be recruiting across seven counties and one of her biggest recruiting challenges is staying relevant. The physician recruitment department hires physician assistants and nurse practitioners, but she also recruits for high-level surgical specialties. “There’s no middle ground and Meridian Health only hires the best of the best,” Haines says. “National awareness is critical. I want every physician in the U.S. to know about Meridian Health,” Haines explains. To do that, she casts a wide, wide net. “The problem is there are so many sources. Where do I put my time and our recruiting dollars?”
The VideoMedicine app lets patients connect with medical specialists via an innovative face-to-face video chat. According to VideoMedicine’s Founder, Dr. Charles Butler says, “It does exactly what it’ssupposed to do.”
Physician recruiting is Steve Jacobs’ passion. He’s worked in the industry for twelve years and says, “Finding the right fit for my hospital and our community is the best part of my job.” He is the sole physician recruiter for Good Samaritan Health System, a hospital employer group located in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country in the Lebanon Valley. Jacobs is proud to be associated with Good Samaritan Health System and looks forward to its continued growth and excellence when they merge with Wellspan Health over the next few months.
Cary Sullivan has worked in the health care industry for nearly 30 years and has served with the Guthrie Clinic for ten. She lives on the New York side of the Pennsylvania border and discovered her love for physician recruitment via a somewhat roundabout way—starting with a patient centered HMO. Sullivan has always believed that where a person lives should never be a factor in the quality of health care they receive, or the type of physician that cares for them. Because the Guthrie Clinic is a large system in a rural location, it’s highly unique. Sullivan works to affect the region where she lives by recruiting talented physicians that embrace the same core values.
